Today an estimated two million women and girls in Africa are suffering from obstetric fistula – a childbirth injury caused by prolonged, obstructed childbirth that leaves women incontinent. The effect on these women is devastating and often condemns them to a life of solitude and despair. Cast out by their families and communities, they are considered ‘unclean’.
The aim of the Freedom from Fistula Foundation is to help these women and girls by providing free surgeries to repair their obstetric fistulas, plus free healthcare during pregnancy and childbirth. More than 5,000 women and girls have been helped since 2008.

Smalls for All is delighted to partner with Freedom From Fistula Foundation as we continue our quest to provide the very basic, yet vital, supply of underwear to women in Sierra Leone, Kenya, Malawi and Madagascar. May this be the start of a long and prosperous partnership between Freedom From Fistula Foundation and Smalls for All as we work together to help these women achieve access to a better quality of life.
