(Lisa, two gallery systems… one above perhaps needed to address the Microsoft Edge problem… below alternative possibly easier as it uses a lightbox system that goes over the header, making the ‘next’ button easier… the one above is set to auto as the ‘next’ button makes the page jump up and down to accommodate header.. so pros and cons whichever is chosen!)

(Lisa, two alternative dropdown options below)

Maria Macnamara MBE, conceived and launched Smalls for All in 2009. Maria worked in financial services for 30 years and has been a children’s respite carer since 1997. In 2004 she decided to try a different kind of holiday and spent three weeks working with children in an orphanage in Brazil. This encouraged her to volunteer to work in Thailand in 2006 and Ethiopia in 2009.

It was following her experience in Ethiopia that she decided to set up Smalls for All.

In 2015 Maria was recognised as an inspirational volunteer and awarded a Point of Light Award by the Prime Minister. “Maria’s work will have had an immediate impact on the daily lives of thousands of women and I am delighted to recognise her service with this Point of Light Award.” Points of Life are outstanding individual volunteers – people who are making a change in their community. In 2016 Maria was honoured with an MBE.

Alan spent the majority of his career in the Aerospace and Defence industry. At the age of 50 he moved into the third sector and took on responsibility for Mission Direct, a Christian charity that builds schools, medical facilities, safe houses and homes for some of our world’s poorest in 11 countries round the world. He is passionate about supporting the vulnerable and those living on the edge.

Smalls for All captured his heart after he witnessed the amazing impact that giving someone their own underwear can have. Underwear not only restores dignity it allows the street kids to go swimming in public places, play football etc, etc.

Smalls for All
We need to keep topping up our supplies of pants to keep pace with demand, and we’re appealing for help. At Smalls for All, we collect new pants (as well as new and gently worn bras) for people in Africa and the UK who can’t afford or can’t get any. While we collect for both genders, we’ve recently seen a significant increase in demand for men’s pants. Requests come from, for example, charities in the UK supporting the homeless. The Bethany Christian Trust focuses on relieving the suffering and meeting the long-term needs of homeless and vulnerable people in Scotland. We recently supplied them with 600 pairs of pants for people in their Rapid Re-accommodation Welcome Centre. Manager Ruth Longmuir said, “We were delighted to receive this generous donation of pants... Clean underwear is something that most people take for granted but is far from certain for many people who are homeless.”If you can help, please donate a pack of pants to us today. We have an Amazon wish list (bit.ly/wish-sfa) so you can order online and have them delivered directly to Smalls if that’s easier. To find out more, please see bit.ly/underwear-sfa. Thanks, Maria. #pantsappeal 🩲🩳🙏 ... See MoreSee Less

Smalls for All
Smalls for All is running an appeal for donations of pants. Can you help? We collect new pants (as well as new and gently worn bras) for people in Africa and the UK who can’t afford or can’t get them. If you’d like to help, please donate a pack of pants today. We have an Amazon wish list (bit.ly/wish-sfa) so you can order online and have them delivered directly to Smalls if that’s easier. We collect for both genders, but have recently seen a significant increase in demand for men’s pants. One example of the need is for those going into hospital in Africa to be fitted with prosthetics and orthotics, where having pants saves embarrassment all around.Says Olivia Giles of @500milesafrica – a charity that aims to get disabled people in Malawi and Zambia up and walking – “We need to keep a supply of pants to preserve the dignity of patients requiring intimate fittings and who often come without pants.” To find out more, please see bit.ly/underwear-sfa.
