(Lisa, two gallery systems… one above perhaps needed to address the Microsoft Edge problem… below alternative possibly easier as it uses a lightbox system that goes over the header, making the ‘next’ button easier… the one above is set to auto as the ‘next’ button makes the page jump up and down to accommodate header.. so pros and cons whichever is chosen!)

Maria Macnamara MBE, conceived and launched Smalls for All in 2009. Maria worked in financial services for 30 years and has been a children’s respite carer since 1997. In 2004 she decided to try a different kind of holiday and spent three weeks working with children in an orphanage in Brazil. This encouraged her to volunteer to work in Thailand in 2006 and Ethiopia in 2009.

It was following her experience in Ethiopia that she decided to set up Smalls for All.

In 2015 Maria was recognised as an inspirational volunteer and awarded a Point of Light Award by the Prime Minister. “Maria’s work will have had an immediate impact on the daily lives of thousands of women and I am delighted to recognise her service with this Point of Light Award.” Points of Life are outstanding individual volunteers – people who are making a change in their community. In 2016 Maria was honoured with an MBE.

Alan spent the majority of his career in the Aerospace and Defence industry. At the age of 50 he moved into the third sector and took on responsibility for Mission Direct, a Christian charity that builds schools, medical facilities, safe houses and homes for some of our world’s poorest in 11 countries round the world. He is passionate about supporting the vulnerable and those living on the edge.

Smalls for All captured his heart after he witnessed the amazing impact that giving someone their own underwear can have. Underwear not only restores dignity it allows the street kids to go swimming in public places, play football etc, etc.

Please don’t forget to include an email address when you send us a parcel with a donation of underwear, as we love to be able to thank people. Many of the parcels we receive are anonymous. But where a parcel does include a note with an email address, we send a little acknowledgement/thank you email at the end of the month when we opened it. The notes then need to be destroyed and the records deleted for data protection reasons.Unfortunately, each month a small number of emails bounce – either because there’s some technical issue that makes it undeliverable, or because we’ve misread your writing (or mistyped). If this has happened to you, please know that we value each and every donation and that your help is making a real difference. We couldn’t do what we do without you and truly appreciate your support.Wee PS - thanks to this lady for her donation and kind words - we hope you're reading this - we couldn't find a note of your email address, but thanks so much for your donation 😊 Maria 🩲🩳🙏www.smallsforall.org ... Thanks to you, we were recently able to provide underwear to West Lothian Financial Inclusion Network, charity which aims to ensure that all West Lothian residents are aware of their financial choices and promotes access to financial advice, financial products and other services, particularly for the most excluded social group. The organisation’s Carol Henry told us, “One of the parents of a family we support said, ‘You have no idea the peace of mind the undies give me - the kids go through them so quickly I can’t keep up. I struggle to keep up as the kids grow so fast.’Thank you for helping us to help them, Maria. 🩲🩳🙏 ... See MoreSee Less
