Thank you for sending us a pantastic 1,125 parcels in July.

Since our last Talking Pants, we’ve provided new pants and new or gently worn bras to 8 organisations:

• 260 pairs of pants and bras to Woodleigh Impact, a charity foundation working with small charities in Sierra Leone.
• 360 pairs of pants the Children’s Clothing Bank Dunfermline.
• 805 pairs of pants to Care UK Charity who support people in need in Warrington.
• 306 pairs of pants and bras to Ubuntu Women Shelter in Glasgow.
• 830 pairs of pants to the South Ayrshire School Clothing Bank.
• 213 pairs of pants and bras to Link Church Dunfermline.
• 184 pairs of pants to Tweed Togs, a clothing bank in the Scottish Borders.
• 246 pairs of pants to The Clothes Loop, a charity providing emergency clothes parcels for families in Chirnside, Berwickshire.

Thanks to you, we were able to provide underwear recently to West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare who run a school uniform bank for local children affected by poverty. Charity Manager Clair Coyle said, “West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare are delighted to have received the very generous donation of children’s underwear for our School Uniform Bank. The Uniform Bank is extremely busy all year but especially during the summer in preparation for the children going back to school in August. We support families who are adversely affected by poverty and struggle each month with the cost of living, so the costs associated with replacing clothing, uniforms and underwear as the children grow is a real struggle. Having the underwear to include in orders for families means there is one less thing for the family to worry about, and it gives children the dignity and confidence they deserve. Thank you very much to everyone who donated and enabled us to provide this support to our families.”

We also provided underwear to Mamacita Foundation, a charity based in Aberdeen supporting families and individuals experiencing hardship. The organisation’s Vivian Draghici told us, “Through our food bank, befriending service, employability support, and community wellbeing programmes, we assist hundreds of people each month who are facing financial crisis, displacement, or social isolation. In addition to supporting the Aberdeen community, we also work in partnership with Mamacita African Foundation, which extends our humanitarian support to vulnerable women and families in underserved communities in Africa.

“Underwear is an essential item that is rarely donated but urgently needed. Many of the women we support are struggling to afford basic necessities after covering rent, food, utilities, and transport. Some are rebuilding their lives after displacement, fleeing difficult circumstances, or living on extremely limited income. Providing new underwear restores dignity, hygiene, comfort, and confidence. It helps women feel clean, respected, and valued. For those attending appointments, training, work, or simply trying to regain stability, something as simple as proper underwear can have a powerful impact on self-esteem and wellbeing. This support is not just practical, it protects dignity and restores hope.”

Our new premises aren’t quite ready for us yet, but we’re still on track to move September/October time. It’s been a busy time with the usual decluttering that goes alongside packing, as well as all the business-as-usual tasks, but we still found time to have a cuppa and cake to celebrate our 16th birthday!
