Total underwear collected is 2,317,552

Thank you for sending us a pantastic 1,966 parcels in January.

Thanks to everyone who has sent a donation of underwear this year, and please accept our apologies for the time it’s taking to acknowledge some of them. We were nicely on top of things mid-December, but then were closed over Christmas and New Year. Since then, our warehouse has been hit by power outages and intermittent stormy/bitterly cold weather forcing us to close. We really appreciate your patience while we look to work through our backlog of about 1,400 parcels.

Since our last Talking Pants, we’ve provided new pants and new & gently worn bras to 9 organisations:

  • 1,088 pairs of pants and bras to A Child in the Rough, an organisation supporting 300 students attending the Star of Wonder school in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • 3,243 pairs of pants and bras to ShowerBox (Barking, Birmingham, London), who provide a free and secure shower space for those experiencing homelessness.
  • 300 pairs of pants to The Beatrice Project, an organisation supporting the Ntombi Nto Girl Child Network (registered trust in Zimbabwe) by providing sanitary wear.
  • 278 pairs of pants to the NNLS Destitute Asylum Seekers Drop In, an organisation based in London.
  • 250 pairs of pants to Days for Girls (West London & North Herts) for inclusion in their hygiene kits going to Africa.
  • 1,800 pairs of pants to Pelican Parcels, an organisation helping families in need in Hove.
  • 205 pairs of pants to Madison Lindeman who will distribute them to women living in Mbarara, Uganda.
  • 87 pairs of pants to the Bridges Project who support young people at risk of homelessness in Musselburgh, East Lothian.
  • 2,790 pairs of pants to The Cowshed, a Berkshire based charity providing support to people in need.

We received some lovely feedback from Freedom4Girls recently which we thought you’d like to see. The organisation’s founder Tina Leslie said, “Thank you so much for your generous donation of pants for our Kenya project supplying reusable Period Dignity Kits. We deeply appreciate your ongoing support and commitment to our cause. This helps so many girls in Kenya who don’t have access to period pads with some not even owning a pair of pants.”

Simon Community also shared a wee video with us recently. The organisation’s Shelby Vredik told us, “The Simon Community has been serving the homeless community for over 60 years. We have a residential property where residents who would struggle to access alternative provisions help us to take essential items, hot drinks, and food to those sleeping out. Smalls for All has been able to provide us with a regular supply of new underwear that we are asked for every night we go out. When we go out on the streets, we serve anyone who needs us, but are primarily looking for those who have been out for years. Our goal is to maintain a relationship that is on their terms. Being able to reliably supply essential items like underwear is a key part of our relationship building. The support we receive from Smalls for All both provides people with a much needed resource and is an impactful part of what we do in building community on the streets.”
