Total underwear collected is 2,437,295
Thank you for sending us a pantastic 962 parcels in December.
Since our last Talking Pants, we’ve provided new pants and new & gently worn bras to 5 organisations:
- 150 pairs of pants to Chupis, a menstrual health charity supporting girls and women facing period poverty in Africa. These pants will be included in their dignity kits going to Tanzania. We also included a small amount of pants to be handed out at their first boys’ workshop with the maasai community.
- 275 pairs of pants to NNLS, an organisation working with asylum seekers in London.
- 200 pairs of pants to the Jubilee Church in Hull who provide a daily drop-in service for the homeless.
- 375 pairs of pants to Care4Calais (Heathrow).
- 96 pairs of pants to the Bridges Project, an organisation supporting young people in East Lothian and Midlothian.
Thanks to you, we were able to provide underwear recently to Turning Point Scotland who offer a residential service looking after people with complex needs related to drug and alcohol addiction. Sandra Cunningham, Business Administration Manager, shared, “Many of the people we support have been experiencing difficult living conditions before they use our residential service. Being able to offer clean underwear with non-judgemental kindness is crucial for the settling in process to ensure our residents are comfortable for space to reflect and consider their next steps towards recovery.”
Last year you sent us 17,818 parcels, which is slightly down on 2024 but when you consider that 10,816 pairs of pants were bought through our buy-to-give scheme, it’s truly pantastic the support that Smalls has. We are immensely grateful for each and every donation.
We processed 102 requests for underwear in 2025, which amounted to 131,429 pairs of pants and new or gently worn bras for people in need. So far this year we’ve received 10 requests. Your continued support means we can continue saying “yes” to people looking for our help.
We know that there are lots of charities looking to be supported, all of them doing important work. People may be struggling themselves and not able to give a monetary or underwear donation, but there are a couple of ways you can support us for free! You can shop online through easyfundraising, as they partner with over 7,500 brands who will donate part of what you spend to a cause of your choice at no extra cost to you. The donation comes directly from the brand. All you need to do is sign up to easyfundraising and choose Smalls for All as your nominated charity. http://bit.ly/easy-sfa
Another way is by giving your old ink cartridges a second life with Recycle4Charity! Choose ‘Smalls for All’ as your charity, and they’ll transform your cartridges into something amazing – refilled for reuse or recycled into plastic ‘wood’ beams. Each cartridge can earn up to £2 for Smalls AND reduces landfill waste.
As mentioned in November, we’re incredibly thankful to the Bank of Scotland Foundation for supporting us with a grant to recruit a Business Development Manager to help grow our network of charity partners across Scotland and find new sources of underwear donations via retailers and manufacturers.
We welcomed this new recruit, Gillian, to the team on 12 January. Below is a rare picture of Fiona – who has been with Smalls for 9 years but rarely photographed – and Gillian. Fiona works in the background and is involved with a huge amount of the back office “stuff” that keeps Smalls running smoothly, and an important part of her job – which she does really well – is keeping me on track and sane. We had our first meet-up this week and I’m excited, and looking forward to working with them both this year.
Thanks as always for supporting Smalls.
Maria
