Total underwear collected is 2,383,555

Thank you for sending us a pantastic 1,253 parcels in June.

Since our last Talking Pants, we’ve provided new pants and new & gently worn bras to 7 organisations:

  • 1,985 pairs of pants to Uniform Exchange, a charity covering schools in the Kirklees area, West Yorkshire.
  • 504 pairs of pants and bras to the Sharewear Clothing Scheme. Sharewear works to alleviate clothing poverty on both a referral and outreach basis from their centres in Nottinghamshire.
  • 300 pairs of pants to Baby Necessities, a baby bank supporting children within Hampshire.
  • 420 pairs of pants Care4Calais (Slough/Heathrow).
  • 200 pairs of pants to The Simon Community, London.
  • 2,320 pairs of pants to Pelican Parcels, an organisation supporting families in Hove.
  • 188 pairs of pants and bras to Refugees Welcome Crawley.

Thanks to you, we were recently able to provide underwear to Sharewear Clothing Scheme who gave us some lovely feedback. “It was like opening gifts when the delivery from Smalls for All arrived! Amazing support from a fellow charity tackling clothing poverty with a specialism in undergarments. Brand new underwear and new/nearly new bras arrived with us pre sorted and categorised! Their team has saved our team a huge job there and we were able to get those bras straight on the rail for service users to choose from. Immediately as they arrived the underwear was being chosen and our service users will already be wearing those.”

We also provided underwear to Lewisham Donation Hub recently. Hub volunteer Sara Muir told us, “We are a large multi-hub in London. We re-distribute the generous donations we receive to people in south-east London suffering from financial hardship, including rough sleepers, victims of domestic violence, refugees and asylum seekers. We collect pretty much anything – food, clothing, household items, phones, computers – but we rarely get new underwear donated, so we were delighted to receive 390 pairs of men’s, women’s and children’s pants from Smalls for All which have all now been shared with those in need. Thank you to Smalls for All and their supporters. Together we can try and make people’s lives a little easier.”

Please help us win £2,000 to support more people in need! The Movement for Good Awards is an annual programme of giving that anyone can get involved in, and again this year they are donating over £1 million to charities and good causes. Every nomination gives Smalls for All a chance to receive £2,000! It only takes a minute to nominate us (choose poverty as our category): Movement for Good nomination.

As you may know, we have a shop on eBay where we sell items that aren’t suitable to pass on to the people we help or that we don’t collect. We try to sell them in our eBay shop so that we can limit what we have to send to landfill and also help with our running costs. If you’re looking for a bargain, you never know what you might find! Smalls for All eBay store.

We’ll be celebrating 15 YEARS of Smalls for All on the 10th of August. That’s 15 years of making a life-changing difference to people struggling to get underwear, thanks to your continued support. To help us mark this pantastic milestone, could you help us reach 5,515 packs of pants donated through our buy-to-give wish list? That would be a mind-blowing 22,060 pairs since we launched the scheme. To date, we’ve received 5,340 packs, which means we’re only 175 packs away from this goal! It’s the easiest way to donate, by purchasing pants for us at wholesale prices. Donating this way means we can get exactly what we really need – sizes, quality, styles – to be able to fulfil the underwear requests we receive. Thank you!

As always, thank you all for supporting Smalls,

Maria
