Total underwear collected is 2,298,073
Thank you for sending us a pantastic 1,633 parcels in October.
Can you believe it’s been a year since we launched our buy-to-give wish list? Many thanks to everyone who has donated pants this way; a massive 16,520 pairs of pants have been donated so far! It was with great excitement that on Tuesday we received the latest order from the wholesaler – this will keep the volunteers busy for a while.
Since our last Talking Pants, we’ve provided new pants to 4 organisations:
- 638 pairs of pants to The West Lothian Financial Inclusion Network for families in need in West Lothian.
- 285 pairs of pants to the NNLS Destitute Asylum Seekers Drop In, an organisation based in London.
- 98 pairs of pants to Refugees Welcome Crawley.
- 300 pairs of pants to Days for Girls Ealing for including in their hygiene kits going to Africa.
Thanks to you, we were able to provide underwear to Edinburgh School Uniform Bank recently. The organisation’s Clare Fallas told us, “We aim to promote pride, dignity and self-esteem in children from families experiencing financial hardship in Edinburgh. By providing good quality school uniforms and other important clothing such as pants, children living in poverty can attend school without stigma. Packs of new school uniform including pants are given out to families referred to us by other services, including school and social services. We serve families with primary and secondary school aged kids in the Edinburgh local authority area.” Thank you for helping us help them.
Please nominate Smalls for All in this year’s 12 Days of Giving. You’re a click away from giving us a chance of winning £1,000, which could make a real difference to the work we do. Just a wee reminder, we sell on eBay! Sometimes we receive things from people specifically for selling to help raise funds. We also often receive items we don’t collect or that aren’t suitable to pass on to the people we help. So we regift, recycle and sell wherever we can to limit what we have to send to landfill. By shopping with us, you’ve not only helped us ‘go green’, you’ve also contributed to our running costs!
As always, thank you all for supporting Smalls,
Maria
