Total underwear collected is 1,091,028

Happy 9th birthday to us! In August 2010 we received charitable status.

A massive thanks to the sorting volunteers as we’ve continued to do 4 sorting days a week. Thanks to them, we finally managed to get through the 9,604 parcels we received in May, and we’re now working our way through the 5,295 received in June before we can start opening the 5,412 parcels received in July. Don’t ask about August! We put together 1,065 pairs of new pants for 4 organisations, and started preparing new pants and new and gently worn bras for our next big collection in September.

If you’re local to West Lothian and have a few hours to spare, you’re more than welcome to join us. Or, many places offer people an opportunity to have a volunteer-at-work day, so if this would be of interest just get in touch. It’s amazing what a couple of hours can do, and you’d be made to feel very welcome – we provide tea/coffee and biscuits! Just email me, [email protected]

We’ve given 1,065 pairs of new pants to 4 organisations – one being our first in the UK – since the last Talking Pants. We’ve supplied pants to Days for Girls for their hygiene kits, pants for 30 girls at a secondary school in Dedza in Malawi, pants for girls & boys at an orphanage in Kisoro in Uganda, and pants for hygiene kits that will be given to people using the services of the Bethany Christian Trust & Edinburgh Mission carevan in Edinburgh. For details of where all the underwear has gone, please have a look at our underwear timeline.

Now that we’ve settled into our new warehouse, it will be a big help to us if you’re able to start sending your donations directly there from now on: Smalls for All, Five Sisters Business Park, Westwood, West Calder EH55 8PN. Don’t worry if you have a parcel already on its way to us at our registered address – it will still find us! Just to remind everyone, we collect brand new pants for women and children as well as new and gently worn bras. For full details of what we collect, please see our website: www.smallsforall.org. Please remember to pop a note of your email address in with your donation if you’d like us to let you know when it’s been processed, and thanks in advance for your patience in receiving an acknowledgement.

And finally, I’d like to say a huge thank you everyone who has so generously contributed to our premises appeal so far through http://bit.ly/premisesappeal – we really appreciate your support. Thank you!
