And just like that, it’s 2022! The last few weeks have passed so quickly – one minute people were talking about Christmas, and now Easter eggs have appeared in the shops?!

We’re beginning our third year of living with Covid, and many people will still be struggling with the ongoing impact. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a loss of income, an effect on their health, or simply the impact on their way of life in terms of being able to enjoy the simple things we all took for granted pre Covid, Smalls continues to try and be there for people in need of underwear. So far this year, we’re in the process of getting 2,500 pairs of pants ready to go to Uganda and Malawi and have received 4 other requests. I’m guessing 2022 will be just as busy as previous years.

The attached picture is of my house, and although parcels addressed to it have decreased substantially, I still receive about 10% of the donations there on a monthly basis. It would be great if I could enlist your help once again, please be a Smarty Pants champion! If you’re thinking of donating to Smalls, or know of someone wanting to donate or organising a collection, can you please make sure the correct address is used and only what we can collect is sent? Quite often we receive items we don’t collect or that aren’t suitable (e.g. worn pants) to pass on to the people we help. We re-gift and recycle wherever we can to reduce what we send to landfill as this helps reduce our running costs.
