Overall total is 186,090 (and we are still counting!)
We had another underwear sorting day on Sunday 15 November. We posted a message on the website thanking all the people whose parcels we have now opened. Please remember that if you don’t see your name it could be that your parcel has still to be opened. We will be holding another sorting day soon. And thank you to everyone for continuing to send underwear.
The logistics around deliveries and all the stages from opening to sorting and bagging the underwear has proved a big challenge for us given the volume of donations we have received. I’m so grateful to everyone who has given their time to come along and help with the process. I really couldn’t do it without your help.
On Friday 30 October 26,426 pairs of pants were picked up by Operation Christmas Child to be put in their shoeboxes that are headed for Zambia in time for Christmas. We also had a pick up on Friday 13th November. This time 16,150 pairs of pants and bras were collected by Freedom from Fistula Foundation and Kenya Children’s Home who will deliver them to the women and children who need them the most.
I’m off to Kenya on 2 December for a few days before popping over to Malawi. I’m really looking forward to catching up with Ruth, Maureen and Sarah and the other children at St Monicas Children’s Home in Kenya and visiting the 3 villages in Malawi to see the preschool teaching programme. I promise to take lots of pictures and share them when I get back.
Smalls for All is now raising funds via Easyfundraising. You can raise money for us every time you shop online with M&S, Tesco, Amazon and many more. A great time of year when so many of us are busy Christmas shopping!
